  • 国内発信ツールとしてのEAAFPニュースレター

    Read in English by EAAFP Secretariat EAAFPのニュースレターは2015年1月から毎月発行されています。EAAF内の渡り鳥に関するニュース、EAAFPのパートナーや作業部会・特別委員会からの活動報告、会議予定などが主なトピックです。 ニュースレターは、2015年7月号よりバードライフ・インターナショナル東京により日本語に翻訳され、EAAFPについての国内向け情報発信に利用されています。訳を始められたバードライフ・インターナショナル東京の澤祐介さんにお話をうかがいました。 なぜEAAFPのニュースレターを訳し始められたのですか? 日本には、EAAFPの国内実施に携わる主要な関係者が集まり意見交換を行う国内連絡会があります。昨年の連絡会において、EAAFPの活動やEAAFPそのものの国内認知度を高めるため、ニュースレターの目次を和訳して国内向けに発信することが重要だとの意見が出されました。ポイントは、和訳するのは基本的に目次だけでいいという点です。国内連絡会では、英語が苦手な日本人も多いが全ての記事を和訳するのは大きな労力がかかり実施が困難であること、興味がある分野の記事については英語でも読もうとするはずであることが議論され、情報の入り口となる目次だけ訳せばよいとの結論に至りました。これを受けて、国内事務局を担っているバードライフ東京で、自主的に翻訳を始めたものです。 国内ではどのように発信されているのですか? バードライフインターナショナル東京のホームページに掲載します。また、日本にはガンカモ類、シギ・チドリ類、ツル類を対象とする国内ネットワークがあり、該当するフライウェイサイトの管理者や調査者などが参加する各ネットワークの情報交換用メーリングリストがあるのですが、それぞれに案内していただくよう、国内コーディネーターの方にお願いしています。 和訳版を作るときにどのような工夫をされていますか? 日本語版では、ニュースレターのはじめに「トピック」として、日本に関連の深い記事をリストアップしています。また、私たちBirdlife Internationalが特に力を入れてきたヒガシシナアジサシの保全についての記事(8月号)など、全文を訳したものもあります。また、最近バードライフ・インターナショナル東京のFacebookページ(日本語)を開設しましたので、ここでもEAAFPニュースレター日本語目次のお知らせをあげていこうと考えています。 澤さん、ありがとうございました。 他の国でも、翻訳などニュースレターを国内向けに活用されている例があれば、事務局までぜひお知らせください。
