東アジアのコクガン最前線: 一斉調査/標識コクガン観察記録収集のお願い
Posted by eaafp on December 27, 2016Read in English 澤祐介(一般社団法人バードライフ・インターナショナル東京) コクガン Branta bernicla は、ユーラシア大陸やアラスカ、カナダなどの北極海沿岸やグリーンランドなどで広く繁殖し、全世界に約50万羽が生息すると推定されています。東アジアに飛来する個体群は、亜種コクガン B.b.nigricans とされており(IOC)、約6,000~10,000羽が日本や韓国、中国などで越冬するとされています。東アジアで越冬する個体群は、ロシアのレナ川、ヤナ川の河口で繁殖するとされていますが、これまで調査はほとんど実施されておらず、渡りの経路や、東アジアにおける詳細な越冬状況は解明されていません。また、沿岸域の開発などによる影響で、減少が懸念されています(Syroechkovskiy 2006)。 これらの課題を解明すべく、日本の研究者やNGOが中心となり、衛星追跡、渡り時期・越冬期の一斉調査、繁殖地ロシアでの標識調査が実施されてきました。ここでは、それらの成果をレビューし、さらなる東アジアのコクガン越冬状況解明のために、一斉調査への参加、標識コクガンの観察記録収集へのご協力を呼びかけたいと思います(一斉調査への参加、観察記録の連絡先は一番下に記載)。 ■ 東アジアで越冬するコクガンの繁殖地 東アジアで越冬するコクガンについては、1986年から1994年の間にアラスカを中心に約35,000羽以上のコクガンに標識が装着され、そのうち7羽が日本に飛来した記録があります(Derksen et al. 1996。図1)。しかし、アラスカで繁殖した個体は大半がカリフォルニアで越冬することが知られており、東アジアに飛来する個体は少数であると考えられています。 一方、1997年にシベリア中部オレニョク川河口で標識された22羽(Syroechkovskiy…
