  • 缅甸成为EAAFP第32位合作伙伴

      7月27日,在全体合作伙伴一致同意下,缅甸联邦共和国政府成为EAAFP的第32位合作伙伴。 在过去的多年时间里,尽管缅甸政府当时并不是EAAFP的正式合作伙伴,但其一直长期积极地支持着EAAFP及我们的相关活动。该国对许多迁徙水鸟来说都是至关重要的。 孟加拉湾及安达曼海沿岸维系着大面积的潮间带滩涂,同时,已被提名为EAAFP鸟类关键分布区的莫塔马湾(Gulf of Mottama)对勺嘴鹬也有着全球性重要意义,因该区域是支持相当大比重此类极度濒危物种度过非繁殖季的为数不多的鸟区之一。 EAAFP勺嘴鹬特别工作组与当地相关部门、NGO及社区合作,共同开展调查,以减少由任意捕捉鸻鹬鸟类行为所造成的威胁。此外,缅甸还支持了另外一种极度濒危物种——青头潜鸭的大量种群。 目前还需要更多的调查和监测,才能有效地评估缅甸境内的勺嘴鹬和其他水鸟物种的生存现状。现已有五个鸟区缴入到EAAFP 鸟类关键分布区(FSN)中,分别是莫塔马湾,印多吉湖,莫亦云吉湿地(Moeyungyi Wetland),茵莱湖以及Meinmahla岛。EAAFP非常期待与缅甸政府的合作,以便加强国家层面的合作关系——缅甸境内一些国际和国家级非政府保育组织非常积极地支持正在开展的调查,监测和保育行动,包括一些和EAAFP其他合作伙伴共同开展的活动。
