Joined in 2010, Thailand is one of the 18 Partner Countries of EAAFP. There are three Flyway Network Sites: Krabi Estuary and Bay (EAAF 084), Pak Thale – Laem Phak Bia (EAAF 121) and Khok Kham (EAAF 122). The later two sites were important wintering sites of a key species of EAAFP – Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Critically Endangered).EAAFP supported the Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST) to organize two Bird Walk events in 2019. On 8th September, BCST in collaboration with SONY Thai Co., Ltd. conducted the Bird Walk at the Queen Sirikit Park with total of 30 participants. After the great achievement of the first Bird Walk, BCST and SONY Thai Co., Ltd. had partnered again on October 5th for second Bird Walk at Vachirabenjatas Park (Suan Rod Fai) which gathered 24 participants. In both events, SONY sponsored lending cameras for all participants to capture the beauty of our mother nature.
The collaboration will lead to Thailand Bird Race that will be held at Laem Pak Bia Environmental Research and Development Project, Phetchaburi on 9-10 of November conducted and supported by the BCST. This event will help support the conservation project of migratory shorebirds at Pak Thale, Pethchaburi. The winners (3 person/team) shall receive the awards valued THB 30,000 from the BCST and the Phetchaburi Province. Whereas SONY Thai expands its sponsorship for another 15 cameras for the Bird Race competitors. More details and guidelines on registration can be read at Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST)

Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST) is a member of EAAFP Spoon-billed Sandpiper Task Force for long time and is an important stakeholder to conduct front-line conservation work of the globally threatened migratory waterbird species.
Thailand bird watching event (Bird Walk)has been conducted in Bangkok urban parks for more than 9 years. This event is a chance for people who are interested in birds and nature to pursue their interests and for beginning bird watchers to practice their own skills.
