World Migratory Bird Day Celebration, 07 November 2018, Bangladesh

An awareness campaign was held on the eve of World Migratory Bird Day 2018 on November 07 at Sonadia Island of Cox’s Bazar. The Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Mohammad Safiul Alam Chowdhury was present as the Chief Guest of that awareness programme. The primary concern of the event was to aware local community of the island. The program was started with a cheerful assemble of local stakeholders. Secondary stakeholders like district administration, local forest divisions, NGOs, college and schools teachers and students, researchers, adjacent community, bird lover etc. were also present in the program. The programme was started with a formal and scientific speech by Mr. Sayem U. Chowdhury, Assistant Coordinator, Spoon-bill Task Force, EAAF. Later on motivated speeches were given by invited guests and the chief guest. A press release was distributed among the media personnel to cover the news and write about the importance of migratory water birds conservation. The event was call to an end by a field trip to the Spoon-bill Sandpiper feeding and roosting ground only for the invited guests, researchers and media person.
