Outcome:

On the occasion of the World Migratory Bird Day, the MoLEP published and disseminated “WMBD” posters to the relevant stakeholders. The poster shows the importance of the migratory bird conservation as well as the linkage between the countries lying in the EAAF.

Out of 500 copies published, 300 copies were disseminated to the relevant stakeholders such as local government authorities, migratory bird reserves and local schools. And the rest of the 200 copies were kept to be used during the Swan Geese Festival, which is going to be held in Mundok MBR in October 2019 on the occasion of the next World Migratory Bird Day.

Summary:

On the occasion of the WMBD in May 2019, the experts from the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection (MoLEP) developed and published “World Migratory Bird Day” poster to promote the public awareness on importance of the migratory birds conservation, particularly, those who are living in, or nearby the migratory bird reserves.

Through the dissemination of the posters, the target audience could get a better understanding about the World Migratory Bird Day and importance of the migratory bird conservation as well as the urgent needs for the environment protection, not only for the birds but also for people, ourselves.

Effectiveness of the public awareness through the posters will be magnified as they will be read by more audience of the local community people and school children, giving them better knowledge about the migratory birds.
