Contracting Parties to Ramsar Convention in Asia and relevant international/domestic NGOs have gathered in Jakarta, Indonesia on 14-18 November 2011. The Ramsar Secretariat reported on the implementation of the Ramsar Convention 2008 – 2011 and outlined the forthcoming issues for the implementation of the Ramsar Convention. The EAAFP Secretariat, represented by Aram Lee, Communications and Information Officer, has delivered a presentation about the Partnership as a regional initiative of the Ramsar Convention, More issues including economic valuation of wetlands, working with local communities, best practices in wetlands tourism, opportunities for regional cooperation were discussed.
