Rebecca Lee, Saving the Spoon-billed Sandpiper
Just a quick update to let you all know that ET, the satellite tagged Spoon-billed Sandpiper who yesterday, was just south of the island of Hainan, has flown across Vietnam, Laos and most of Thailand today! The last fix from her came in at 14:09 (UTC, 21:09 local time) showing her to be about 250 km north of Bangkok and about 150 km from Thailand’s western border with Myanmar. That’s a journey of over 1000 km in just less than 24 hours!
We hope your journey continues safely ET.
UPDATE @ 16:46 UTC
In the time it took to post that last blog she crossed the border! So yes, she definitely was heading to Myanmar.
