Information and Experience Sharing and Training Workshop for Wetland Managers in Mongolia

The International Workshop for Regional Ramsar and Flyway Site Managers will be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia collaborating with Ramsar Regional Center – East Asia, Ministry of Environment, Green Development, and Tourism, Gyeongnam Province, Republic of Korea, National University of Mongolia, Mongolian Ornithological Society, East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP), WWF-Mongolia, and Mongolian Academy of Sciences from 05-09 October, 2015. The Workshop will focus on opportunities and challenges of wetland management at wetland and flyway sites in Mongolia. The five day workshop will bring together site managers and experts from Mongolia and will discuss problems and challenges facing wetlands and flyway sites in the country.

Objectives:

  1. Share experience and knowledge among site managers at Ramsar and Flyway Sites
  2. Identify major opportunities and challenges of the Sites
  3. Develop and improve the wetland site management via METT (circulate Res XII.15 beforehand)
  4. Training for site managers, including Ramsar Tool, flyway issues, and CEPA activities
