EAAFP Chief Executive, Dr. Lew Young passes away

The EAAFP Secretariat is deeply sad to announce that the Chief Executive of EAAFP, Dr. Lew Young passed away on 5th March 2019 in Beijing due to a sudden heart attack. He is 60 years old.

Lew joined the EAAFP Secretariat as Chief Executive in March 2018.

This is a tragic loss for the EAAFP. Our thoughts and condolences go to his family and friends. Please transmit your messages of condolence to Lew’s family at condolences.eaafp@gmail.com.

Arrangements for his memorial service will be announced later. The acting head of office is Deputy Chief Executive, Mr. Min-jong Jeon (deputy@eaaflyway.net). Please copy the Programme Officer, Ms. Hyeseon Do at programme@eaaflyway.net in all work related emails going forward.

Lew was a great man and a great friend. The world of conservation has lost a real and dedicated champion, a person who was much loved and respected by all who knew him and worked with him.. For me it was a privilege to know him. My thoughts are especially with his family at this very sad time.
