Brochure of <Bird Meets Arts> project ⓒYunjoo Cho/EAAFP Foundation
On 27th of October 2021, the brochure for <Bird Meets Arts>, the collaboration project between EAAFP Foundation and Yeonsu Foundation for Arts and Culture has been released in both Korean and English. The brochure includes the summary of 6 episodes of <Bird Meets Arts>, and some behind scenes in Q&A format. It also provides an OX Quiz about migratory waterbirds and the coloring book of Black-faced Spoonbill.
The <Bird Meets Arts> project is the 1st collaboration project after the MoU signed between EAAFP Foundation and Yeonsu Foundation for Arts and Culture on March 2021. The <Bird Meets Arts> series was produced to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day 2021 and to promote the importance of migratory waterbirds and their habitats through culture and art. It aims to encourage public participation in various forms of conservation actions.
The brochure includes behind scenes of <Bird Meets Arts> videos. It mainly consists of several interesting episodes which are not included in the video. <Ep.1 Migratory Waterbirds in Yeonsu, Incheon> entails behind stories of Incheon citizen monitoring team. It includes the reason why they chose Songdo, Incheon as a monitoring area, and impressive stories they have experienced while monitoring Black-faced Spoonbills.
<Ep.2 Wetland> introduces unexpected reasons for migratory birds’ death, and some impressive episodes Dr. Kisup Lee experienced during birdwatching. Dr. Kisup Lee, a lecturer of Episode 2 is the Chair of EAAFP Black-faced Spoonbill Working Group and Executive Director of Korean Waterbird Network. It also provides OX Quiz related to migratory waterbirds to learn interesting facts.
On <Ep.3 History of Songdo Tidal Flat, Yeonsu district>, you can find out what historical record means, and the special value of Aam Island in Songdo, Yeonsu district through Mr. Dong Hyun Yoo, the Chief Director of Incheon City Museum and a former editor of the monthly magazine ‘Good Morning Incheon’.
<Ep.4 Illustration and CEPA> episode shows behind stories and the memorable moment of Dr. Green Choi, the ecologist, illustrator, and the Chief Executive of MEET GREEN, while coordinating <522 Project>. It also offers a coloring book of Black-faced Spoonbill illustrated by Dr. Green Choi.
<Ep.5 Youth> introduces the reason why young people become interested in environmental issues, and some new methodologies of youth dealing with environmental issues by inviting three youth environmental activists, Ms. Jihyun Sung, representative of ‘Greener is Cleaner’, Ms. Gyuri Cho, co-president of GEYK(Green Environment Youth Korea), and Mr. Yongjae Kim, a photographer who works at Green Seoul Citizen Committee.
The last episode <Ep.6 Music> includes behind stories of the collaboration of two musicians, ‘Bowerbird Collective’ from Australia, and Mr. Yoo Dong Jeon in RO Korea who are inspired by bird songs. You may find the stories of the song which was inspired by godwits and curlews and the interview of the musicians regarding online collaboration.
The brochures of <Bird Meets Arts> project are planning to be displayed at 17 libraries in Yeonsu district including Songdo International Organization Library located at G-Tower. EAAFP-연수문화재단 협력사업 <새며들다> 프로젝트 책자 발간
지난 10월 27일, 재단법인 EAAFP와 연수문화재단의 협력사업 <새며들다> 프로젝트 내용을 요약한 책자가 국문과 영문으로 발간되었다. 본 책자에는 <새며들다> 총 6편의 영상 내용에 대한 요약본과 영상에 담지 못했던 흥미로운 내용들을 질문과 답변 형식으로 정리했으며 철새 관련 OX 퀴즈와 저어새 컬러링북도 준비되어 있다.
<새며들다>는 재단법인 EAAFP과 연수문화재단이 2021년 3월에 체결한 양해각서에 따라 협업한 첫 프로젝트이다. 2021년 세계 철새의 날을 기념하고 문화예술을 통해 이동성 물새와 그들의 서식지 보전의 중요성을 시민들에게 널리 알리며 생태 보전을 위한 시민들의 참여를 독려하고자 제작되었다.
책자에는 <새며들다> 영상의 비하인드 스토리가 담겨있다. 영상에는 담지 못했으나 촬영 중 흥미로웠던 에피소드를 중심으로 내용이 전개된다. 1편 <철새에 새며들다> 부분에는 인천 철새 시민 모니터링팀의 뒷이야기를 담았다. 모니터링 지역을 인천 송도로 정한 이유, 저어새 모니터링 중 겪었던 감동적인 에피소드와 같은 내용이 담겨있다.
2편 <습지에 새며들다> 부분에는 EAAFP 저어새 워킹그룹 의장이자 한국 물새네트워크의 상임이사인 이기섭 박사님을 통해 우리가 미처 생각하지 못했던 철새가 죽는 이유와 박사님께서 탐조활동 중 겪었던 인상 깊었던 에피소드가 담겨있다. 또한 철새 관련 OX 퀴즈를 통해 흥미로운 상식을 얻을 수 있는 기회도 마련되어 있다.
3편 <연수구 송도 기록에 새며들다> 부분에는 현재 인천시립박물관장이자 20년동안 ‘굿모닝 인천’의 편집장을 지낸 유동현 관장을 통해 기록이 지니는 의미와 아암도가 연수구 송도에서 지니는 특별한 가치를 찾아볼 수 있다.
4편 <그린 그림에 새며들다> 부분에는 일러스트, 조류연구, 생태교육 세 가지 분야를 통해 새와 자연을 사람들에게 친근하게 소개하고자 노력하는 MEET GREEN의 대표 최그린 씨가 <522 프로젝트>를 진행하며 겪은 뒷이야기와 활동을 하며 보람을 느꼈던 순간을 재미있게 풀어내고 있으며, 최그린 씨가 그린 저어새를 직접 색칠해볼 수 있는 컬러링북도 함께 포함되어 있다.
5편 <청년, 새며들다> 부분에는 환경분야 활동에 적극적으로 참여하고 있는 세 명의 청년들인 Greener is Cleaner 청소년 환경단체의 성지현 대표, 기후변화청년단체 GEYK의 조규리 공동대표, 녹색서울시민위원회에서 근무 중인 김용재 사진작가를 통해 청년들이 환경문제에 관심을 갖게 된 계기와 환경문제를 대하는 새로운 접근 방법을 소개한다.
마지막으로, 6편 <음악에 새며들다> 부분에는 새의 소리에 영감을 받아 음악을 표현하는 호주의 음악가 ‘Bowerbird Collective’와 한국의 전유동 음악가의 합동 연주에 대한 뒷이야기를 담았다. 협업 인터뷰를 통해 도요새와 그들의 군무에서 영감을 받아 협업하여 만든 곡에 담긴 이야기와 온라인 협업에 대한 예술가들의 소감을 확인할 수 있다.
<새며들다> 프로젝트의 책자는 송도 국제기구 도서관을 비롯한 연수구의 17개 도서관에 비치될 예정이며 이 중에는 송도 G타워에 위치한 송도 국제기구 도서관도 포함된다. 또한 책자는 재단법인 EAAFP 홈페이지 자료실에서 자유롭게 열람할 수 있으나, 무단 복제 및 배포는 금지하고 있다.
