EAAFP Secretariat

Spike Millington, Chief Executive of EAAFP, participated in the meeting of ASEAN Working Group on Nature Conservation and Biodiversity (AWGNCB) held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 8 June 2015. He was invited by EAAFP Partner ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB) to give a presentation to the AWGNCB on the importance of conservation of migratory waterbirds and their habitats, focusing on the importance of South East Asia and the work EAAFP is undertaking. The aim is to raise the profile of this issue among ASEAN countries and integrate migratory waterbird and habitat conservation into planning and policy. The Working Group encouraged EAAFP to develop a specific proposal for an ASEAN project to conserve migratory waterbirds and their habitats, in conjunction with ACB.
