Arctic Migratory Birds Initiative (AMBI) 2019-2023 Work Plan released!

The Arctic Council Ministers have approved and released the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna’s (CAFF) Arctic Migratory Birds Initiative Work Plan 2013-2019.

The East Asian-Australasian Flyway component of the AMBI Work Plan features five main objectives and 39 actions that focus largely on habitat conservation and reduction of illegal hunting. AMBI activities in the region focus on nine priority Arctic-breeding species: the Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Great Knot, Red Knot, Bar-tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Curlew Sandpiper, Lesser White-fronted Goose, Emperor Goose and Brant Goose.

AMBI is looking for opportunities to translate the East Asian Australasian Flyway component of this Work Plan into partner languages. If you foresee an opportunity to provide such a translation, or if you have any questions about AMBI please contact: Courtney Price, AMBI Global Coordinator, Courtney@caff.is
