B.I.R.D.S. Club: What birds do you know?

Written by Jason Loghry of Birds Korea

The 2015 school year has arrived and we are now in our second week of study. Last year was the first year for Obang Elementary of Gimhae to offer students the B.I.R.D.S. Club birdwatching program. We learned about birds, birdwatching and biodiversity. We learned about endangered bird species of the region and about their habitat. For our final project of the school year, our bird club students designed a poster called, “What birds do you know?” The students did an extraordinary job of drawing and coloring 6 endangered bird species of the region. This poster was designed to help spread awareness about these birds at our school and with the public. This project was a fantastic way to finish off the program. In April, ten new students will join us for the 2015-2016 school year’s birdwatching program. Many thanks to our club members for their hard work and dedication to learning about birds and conservation.
